winners of
the BBC Radio 2 "Good Tradition" and "Best Group" Folk Awards, hey!
.........where we're delighted to announce that the new Oysterband & June Tabor album RAGGED KINGDOM (TSCD 585) will be released by Topic Records in UK and worldwide and by Westpark Music in Western Europe on Monday 19 September, on CD and DL.
It's taken 21 years to make the follow-up to Freedom & Rain - a mad sort of idea, but dare we say we think it's worth the wait?!
We'll be out on tour together in October and November, but first we have a great show to launch the album and we hope you'll join us for it. Tickets are going quite fast, so if you really want to come, you should definitely book now :
More dates on the "Ragged Kingdom" tour opposite.
More news and taster tracks on this website and the Oysterband Facebook page as we approach release date, and also at www.topicrecords.co.uk/?p=2499

THE BIG SESSION FESTIVAL ---- 2012 and the future
After six wonderful years at De Montfort Hall, Leicester, Oysterband are very pleased to announce that we've teamed up with experienced festival organisers MRS CASEY MUSIC.
CATTON HALL near Walton-upon-Trent, with stunning flat green spaces, easy access and the idyllic peaceful surroundings of a country house by the river, will host the 2012 festival from 15 - 17 June.
More details of tickets, artists and the new programme will be announced later this summer. We realise that some will be doubtful about a move to a greenfield site - all we can say is that, as greenfield sites go, this one is a corker!
During this period of change we've become very aware of the good reputation The Big Session has for the creativity of its programming and the warmth of its atmosphere. We promise we'll do our utmost to keep it special.
THE BIG SESSION FESTIVAL ---- 2011
But this year, to keep the flag flying and the music playing, we welcome you to The Big Session at BEAUTIFUL DAYS, Escot Park, Devon on Saturday 20th August. Oysterband will be taking over the Big Top for that day, along with:
EDDI READER - RODDY WOOMBLE - ADRIAN EDMONDSON & THE BAD SHEPHERDS - DIZRAELI AND THE SMALL GODS - JACKIE OATES - THE YOUNG COPPERS
plus a couple of surprises.
This is a great opportunity for us to take the Big Session to another major event that shares much of our ethos - our warm thanks to Levellers and DMF for generously making space for us.
